INR 1.3 billion, that's about 19.7 million Euros, or 30.3 million US dollars.

Make sure you don't miss the first 10 minutes of the movie. It's spectacular and all the money you paid is justified for the first 10 minutes alone.

And also make sure that you walk out of the cinema hall after first 10 minutes, unless you want to spend much more on buying aspirins. Rubbish!

Not sure which one you are referring to, but the one that is shown in the movie is the conflict that happened in Tamilnadu and it was at it's peak during the 12th century. It was the time when Ramanuja was exciled from Chola kingdom for the same reason.

Is the movie so boring after the first 10 minutes?

Well, it depends. I was too harsh with my initial comment only because I was expecting a lot more from Kamal. It is still a better movie than most of the ones out there, especially on technical grounds.
The make-up for certain characters (out of the 10) looks very amatuer. But thanks to Kamal's talents, he compensates it with his body language.
Music is a big negative and the story & screenplay could have been much better.
My friends who came to the movie, "just" for entertainment liked it. Keep your expectations right, and you might like it as well. All the best!
