Does anybody take the mock exam on the Sun site?
Is that similar to SCJP?
I got 88% there and:
Congratulations. Your score suggests that you have mastered the material covered in Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 (CX-310-055) and that you are ready to take the exam.

What do You think?

I'd say 88% is a good score!

My bet is that you'd pass the exam if you took it right now, but you might not get as high a score. The pass % on the actual exam is much lower.

I think the Sun exam is a bit easier, by your mileage may vary.

SCJP 6.0 introduces two new concepts:
- java.io.Console object
- java.util.NavigableMap/NavigableSet interfaces.
That's all!
You should remember that Console.readPassword() returns char[], not String!!! I've had such question on my real exam.

Thanks, but I know it
String is in the constant pool and remains there so it could be dangerous.

I have cleared ExamLab Diagnostic Exam with 69%.
I think that it's not very tough. Usually the very weird syntax is legal

Do YOU think that I can attempt the real exam?

Should I do all of the questions from JQ+V6 or should I read K&B book once again?

My first attempt to pass ExamLab diagnostic exam succeded with 77% score.
I think, you are ready for exam if your goal is only to pass it, despite of score result.
But it you really want to gain nice score (95-98%) you should pass ALL the exams in examlab, making your own notes with tough concepts of the exam topics. It can be something like "two minute drills" but in your own performance. After that you should read these notes as many times as you can exactly before exam.
I used to to the same and gained 95% on the real exam.

Good luck!

The exam is not graded - it is just pass or fail. I have never understood the obsession with the exact score.

It is not the obsession for me.
If you get higher score, USUALLY you will know more.

Remember more? Certainly.
Understand more? Possible.
Know more? I need my pipe and slippers, this is getting philosophical....
