This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of The Mikado Method and have Ola Ellnestam and Daniel Brolund on-line! See this thread for details.
I am planning to take SCJP 6.0. I have done programming in C & C sharp, but no programming experience of Java. Which book should I use to start my exam preparation: SCJP Exam for J2SE 5 Platform or Sun Certified Programmer for Java 5 Study Guide?
Thanks.

I've not read the Sanghera book, but I can easily vouch for the Sierra/Bates one. It's a fantastic book to learn from and covers every topic in plenty of detail. I studied from that book extensively and was able to achieve a 98% .
those books are not for beginners....
learn java basics, try to program in java and then go for those books...........

Thanks Mathew for your advice.
Karthick, as I said I have programming experience in C#. And since C# and Java are almost identical twins, I don't think I should start with a beginner's book. I have already purchased both books, and Java code & examples seem easy to understand. My only thing is that Sierra/Bates is a monster in size as compared to Sanghera and both books have excellent reviews!
