It won't be long before the LHC at CERN is up and running. Don't know what that is? Better read up on it then, because it's going to create black holes, which -as we all know- will suck all matter around them in until nothing's left to suck. That means Switzerland and France will be gone soon -that includes Swiss banking and French cheese-, the rest of the earth a bit later. Have I got your attention now? Good. And before that hip-hop, the music from CERN was in the form of Les Horribles Cernettes

Great music from the admin assistants (I don't think there was/is a scientist among them).

Their music is to the 60s Doo-wop style and arranged or composed by the computer scientist there by the name of Silvano De Gennaro.

The titles of some of their songs are:

• Liquid Nitrogen
• Daddy's Lab
• My Sweetheart is a Nobel Prize
• Antiworld
• Strong Interaction [as in the fundamental physical force of that name]
• Microwave Love


The first photograph on the Web was their photo.

The "web" then was probably a few Unix workstations at CERN and at some other labs maybe?

But there you can see the talent of these employees of CERN. Remember these employees were not hired to be entertainers even if they can be on the side

It has been my experience (my first job after college [physics] was at the Arecibo Observatory) that mathematically talented people also have a natural ability for music. And that the "<em>admin assistants</em>" that hang around them are also very intelligent and talented.

But that's just my experience (and CERN's)
