Almost too close to the truth to be funny I'm sure we've all felt the pain, probably more than once...

Makes me think of the Ubuntu Hug-for-a-bug Day, which was yesterday (28 Aug 2008).

All True!

I like the end where we see the kid who has just finished an intensive 6 week course in VB. Some managers think he would be qualified now as a coder. Actually, some think all technologies and skills are like a 3 day course in Excel or Word... Data Modeling, Database admin, programming, Powerpoint, Outlook,...its all the same, its all just techie stuff.

Very true! Managers think *coding* is a factory process; anybody can be replaced anytime with anybody. How foolish!

The career path preferred (at-least) what I have seen in India is
Coder --> Programmer --> Developer --> Module lead -->PL --> Manager
Fresher -> 1 year exp --> 1-3 yr exp -> 3+ years ----> 5+ --> 7+ years want to lead and manage team

So these new managers rule the same way as they were ruled and expect a baby in 1 month with 9 resources
