Hi
I have just completed my Graduation(Engineering) and would be joining a reputed IT giant in India in october.

I have basic knowledge of Java and am thinking of preparing for SCJP certification in the 2 months I have before I join the company.
Can anyone help me out whether I should prepare for SCJP 5 or SCJP 6 ???
Please keep in mind the time left.....

Thanks

Welcome Tanmay,

Go for the SCJP6. there is no much diff between SCJP5 and SCJP6 but SCJP is the latest version of the exam....

you will have to work hard for it...

i think.... kathy sierra and bert bates study guide is good one, perhaps the best one.
But it is good if you know atleast the basics of java.
One more suggestion : write code more and more.

voucher validity varies from 8 to 12 months.
Check your voucher's expiry date when you buy....

5 and 6 are pretty similar. I'd go for 6, just to be current.
