More advanced use of JRuby?

A lost post... I had a question about JRuby but is was lost (sorry if this is a repost). I don't know where it posted to. The ether i guess. Anyway, here is my question again.

I have this Java code to access my Ruby. I can't get it to work with anything but string parameters. Any suggestions?
