I'm working in a big consultancy services in India and even my project is a big one with a lot of applications. So they've devoted an entire team for configuration management. I have no other go rather than joining this team because of the current slow down( i might not get into a project soon if i refuse this offer). So please guide me on how to start my career from here. Could i be able to have a nice project wide view from this team?

Infact my team's roles are the following:

• Perform a Clear case administration
• Perform a Weblogic Administration role
• Manage and maintain Weblogic/NES configuration files
• Assist with planning and management of each domain for existing and new applications
• Deploy kits as per build and deploy role
• Help to define the requirements of the deployment scripts
• Manage and maintain the test environments
• Manage staging & prod environments with/through Third Party vendors
• Perform UNIX advanced user role
• Script maintenance/development (shell, PERL, PHP)
• Monitor/maintain core applications such as Weblogic, ClearCase, NES, iPlanet, Oracle, Samba, MySQL, Apache
• Scheduling of OS patches
• Management and scheduling of server upgrades
• Management and scheduling of application server upgrades e.g. Weblogic, ClearCase

I need you to comment on this.Please.

Thank you
