Check out with CVS via ANt Script

When Im trying to use the cvs checkout command in the ant script it gives an error sayiing

[cvs] Caught exception: Cannot run program "cvs": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified

can anyone help me to find the solution

Did you read the Ant docs? Here is the start of the second paragraph on the cvs task:

Important: This task needs "cvs" on the path. If it isn't, you will get an error (such as error 2 on windows).

do we have to explicitly download the cvs.exe or it come default with ant

cvs.exe does not come with ant, you have to first download and install it (I have always wondered why the cvs tasks are considered core ant tasks when they require you to download and install third-party software)
