is it possible to use client-cert authentication method for authrization too?

Hi.


Assume that I have an application which multiple roles are required to be defined. some URLs are available for role1 and some for role2.
I also need client-cert authentication in place. What I can not understand is the fact that whether it is possible to have authorization and use client-cert authentication method?
I could'nt find how I can define roles and role mapping for digital certificates
