Just in case you haven't seen this elsewhere, here's a great tip for searching individual forums. (Big thank you to Dirk !)
If you want to search the cattle drive forum only, type in your first search term like this:
saloon.javaranch.com/19
For example, if you want to find posts on classpath, you'd type in
saloon.javaranch.com/19 + classpath
and all your results come from the cattle drive forum.

Comes in really handy when you're looking for tips on specific assignments.

I tried: saloon.javaranch.com/19 + classpath
With and without intermediate spaces:
Result: page not found both versions.

Me too, and I copied and pasted it directly from your post Peter. Have you tried again?

NO, does not work at this moment.
Does a personal firewall change the behaviour?
Or the browser (IE6.02)?
I will check tomorrow with netscape.
Thanks for trying finding the error

I just tried using IE6.0.2600 and Netscape Navigator 6.22. It worked fine (cut and pasted your entry into the Google search at the bottom of this page). I can't answer the question about the personal firewall.

Can you query Google using other terms?

http://www.javaranch.com
with netscape 6.2 gives
Not Found
The requested URL /19+classpath was not found on this server.
Apache/1.3.17 Server at saloon.javaranch.com Port 80

Solved: I did it in the browser URL-window
and not in the GOOGLE input line.
There it works as described!
So I can say too: Javaranch is nicely searched and put in a database by Google for us
