I have spotted a small error in the FinalExam.
Please, have a look on the screen. There is a lack of one curly brace after Serializable and the answer is considered good.

The curly brace is missing, probably a little flaw.

Yeah - it is a small mistake but I have decided to post it. Devaka Coorey's ExamLab is almost perfect

Thank you Lukas for pointing this out.
This will be fixed with the next update, for sure.

Devaka.

By the way - There was info on Whizlab's site that if you find 2 mistakes in their questions your money will be refund.
I have spotted one mistake in their free trial exam - letter 'z' instead of 'r' or something like this - maybe they refund me - I have written to them

Is it true that the ExamLab is much difficulter than the real exam?

Well people say that..... I myself haven't given the real exam so cannot comment on it....but examlab is real tough.

Yeah - think about it. Few people would pass SCJP in the first attempt if it was as difficult as ExamLab
BTW ExamLab is not very tough. It's simply tough

I have this book 'Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6', where you get a cdrom with 2 master exams.
The questions of these master exams are of the same level of the real exam? When you pass these exams, you can pass the real thing?

kind regards,
Thomas

Dude don't look at this like a real exam. These mock exams are there to prepare you up.....means those mistakes that you do now will be okay and those same mistakes you won't repeat in the final exam. You should confirm it yourself and stop worrying. That the wrong answers in a positive manner and learn from it.

off course i know that,

but by knowing what the level is of the exam i have taken against the scjp exam, i can see whether i'm almost there or not...
I have already made some mock exams and yes i do learn out of my mistakes

Not Web.... I am talking about ExamLab and MasterExam. ExamLab is in a league of its own. Well if these two aren't tough means you are ready to write SCJP6.

ExamLab is tough...
The masterExams are doable i think, i need just a little more concentration to filter out the tricky questions :d

I think masterexam has some problems like in classpath to find a class player.A we can directly include the directory of the where the package player is there and A class will be found. But in master exam it says that we have to use the fully qualified name player.A.

I don't remember exactly, but I think you cannot assume that something will be placed in the classpath environment variable or as a flag of javac or java command unless it is specified in the question. So you can't assume that the parent directory of player package would be in the classpath (if you tell the exact question, then it would be easier to understand what you are trying to point to)...

Actually it was said how can we compile player.A from a specified directory. So it was natural of me to assume that player was a package and A was the class. So i gave the classpath where the pakage directory was there from the current directory. like
java -cp classes A (classes/player/A.class) but the simulator said we have to include it like this java -cp classes player.A

As far as I can interpret what you wrote, the master exam is right. You need to write the fully qualified name of the class. In no way can you access the class A directly. Even if you use the command java -cp classes/player A, it will not run, you'll have to use player.A as the class name...

Just to make it all clear guys... ive tried both Whizlabs and Examlab... and while both of them are on the same difficulty level I can most definitely say that both are much harder then the real exam......

2 weeks.... I'v studied now for 2 weeks and im having a score of 64% on the two exams from the cdrom from the book...
And apparantly those questions are also harder then the real exam, so my chances are good at the moment right?

I passed the SCJP 6 exam yesterday.
I had only 2 weeks to prepare too.
For the most part, I used the Kathy Sierra book, and the Examlab software.

The ExamLab software is great and makes for excellent practice, the GUI is very similar to the real exam.
I was getting around 60s in the Examlab version, and I was very very worried! But the real exam is a lot easier, I got a 93%.

Thanks a lot Devaka.
I had almost decided to buy the Whizlabs package, when I ran across this forum thread and decided to try ExamLab instead.
I will definitely make a donation to your site, this thing is just too good to be free!

But if you do the exams on examlab over and over again, you know the questions by then and it isn't very hard to pass then...
same with the exams on the cdrom of the book...

On my first try for the exams on the cdrom i had 64%, so if these questions were harder then on those on the real exam i should pass right?

Well when it comes to SCJP...there isn't much question on hardness is it....its tricky. I make mistakes in like not false and true or everything was ok but the import statement missed a static. So when a program is the same that you saw in the mock but there will be slight differences in the program which will make the output to something else. Well about masterexam i prefer doing the 75 question Quiz with open book as it gives out the answers after i answer the question. Well as the masterexam doesn't let you review the answer...i kind off don't like it. Well in the quiz i tend be true to myself even if the answer is wrong so you can check the answer and understand why it was wrong. Also the multiple choice in the masterexam doesn't give out the the number of choices which is irritating and also very helpful. All to all these mocks are really good.

You can review the question after MasterExam. You have to print the review to the file

I checked the sun website this morning, it says that you have to get 58%?? With total of 60 questions? Is it right?

not for 1.6 .. for 1.6 you need 66% with 60 questions.. i think you are referring to 1.5 scjp.....
