2. What are those java related technologies which are of great demand in market or will be in demand in near future?
3. What are those technologies used in IT industry along with Java which employer look for in candidate?
4. Can you please give me the name of those technologies in the order in which we should learn them.

If you want to prepare for SCJP then SCJP6 by K&B is a really good book. Also to understand the basic java programming then Head First Java by K&B is a gem of a book to own. Java has many advantages from networking to graphics and from web developing to standalone. So it depends on the employer what he wants.

[ SCJP 6.0 - 90% ] , JSP, Servlets and Learning EJB.
Try out the programs using a TextEditor. Textpad - Java 6 api

Welcome to javaranch

1. Best book for java to get best understanding of concepts?

The SCJP study guide by kathy sierra and bert bates. This will give you good knowledge of core java. Try head first java also

2. What are those java related technologies which are of great demand in market or will be in demand in near future?

Only the oracle can answer that. The usual JSP, Servlets, Spring, hibernate, struts etc etc. It depends

3. What are those technologies used in IT industry along with Java which employer look for in candidate?

Soft skills, experience with other operating systems, willingness to learn etc.

4. Can you please give me the name of those technologies in the order in which we should learn them.

Difficult again without knowing what you want to learn.

This thread probably belongs in jobs discussion

I will suggest if you have question specific to java language you can ask question in that specific forum.

Job discussion is career related forum, but if you want to know good book for Java then you can ask in Java forums.
But I will tell you start with any basic java book, then read thinking in Java because it contains some advance concepts too.

Web related development have more projects but it has more competition too.
My suggestion is you first learn core java then think of where you want to focus (web, j2me, swing , core jave etc)
