Problem with ActionMessage

Hi All,

I am new in struts. I am using struts 1.2. I am not getting the error message through <html:messages> tag. Code is given below.
in Jsp:-

 <logic:messagesPresent message="true" property="org.apache.struts.action.GLOBAL_MESSAGE">
	<html:messages id="messages">
		<font color="red"><li><bean:write name="messages"/> </li><font>
	</html:messages>
	</logic:messagesPresent>   

In Action Class:-

  
ActionMessages messages = new ActionMessages();
		Map<String,String> mapOfTns = null;
		try
		{
                    // some error generated
}
catch(Exception ex)
		{
			//ex.printStackTrace();
			messages.add(ActionMessages.GLOBAL_MESSAGE,new ActionMessage("errors.general"));
			System.out.println("Empty???->"+messages.isEmpty());        // returns false
			saveMessages(req,messages);
			System.out.println("msg added!!!");	// giving print in console too		
			return map.findForward("error");
		}  

in struts-config.xml

 
<form-bean name="mybean" type="com.dbtool.form.LoginActionForm"></form-bean>
<action path="/submit" type="com.dbtool.action.LoginAction" name="mybean"  input="/index.jsp">
			<forward name="success" path="/jsp/adapterDetails.jsp"/>

please sort me out the problem.
