I'm not knowledgeable on what Strust can or can't do.
I'm interested to find out whether Strusts has presentation tier cache mechanism.
If so, how to they deal with stale objects that are cached?

Thank you.<br /> <br />- Jess Sie<br /> <a href="mailto:jess@see-consulting.com" rel="nofollow">jess@see-consulting.com</a>

Hi Simon,
what do you want to cache? Struts can store html form input in the user's session.

I have seen things you people would not believe, attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, c-beams sparkling in the dark near the Tennhauser Gate. All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.

You mean, from the database? Struts leaves it to you to keep or destroy your data objects. There are other frameworks that cover database access architecture, and they automate caching.
There are many though and I don't know which cache automatically - try Sun JDO,
Oracle http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/j2ee_bc4j.html
Castor JDO http://castor.exolab.org/
ObjectRelationalBridge http://objectbridge.sourceforge.net/

The neteye actioncache extension provides a caching facility for struts. Sources and documentation can be found at http://actioncache.neteye.de
