Hi!
The technique outlined here will not completely replace an UDDI registry, but can help you to have a centralized place where the locations of services can be configured etc. The idea is to use the Oasis XML Catalog technology that is supported by JAX-WS.
Outline:
- All WSDL and XML schema URIs are configured to point to a servlet endpoint.
- You implement a servlet that resolves the incoming requests for WSDL and XML schema documents and either returns data (WSDL or XML schema) or forwards to appropriate destination.
Best wishes!

Interesting one - IBM acknowledges bypassing UDDI; calls for new SOA registry standard.

I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
