I am using Tomcat 4.0.1 previously.
Now from web I downloaded tomcat supporting jsp2.0. While running this new setup file , I am getting tomcat.exe window for 2 secs. after that it closes auto matically. But if I run previous Tomcat 4.0 , it works fine. How to debug new Tomcat version ?? I user echo command to forward the path taken by the .bat file.Still I didn't received any useful result . I followed the same steps which I followed for Tomcat 4.0.1 ??
Is it possible to keep 2 tomcat versions in the same m/c and run those versions successfully without any problem ???
Can any one help me to solve this ??

Thanks and Regards,<br />Siva Ram .NR

What OS are you trying to install this on? If it is a windows OS, have you tried opening a cmd/dos window changing to the same directory and executing the install from the command line? At least this way the window will remain after the install fails and you should be able to see what went wrong.

I have installed in Windows NT 4.0.
I gave the command catalina start in the dos window only. I got the following lines .
D:\jsp20\bin>catalina start
Using CATALINA_BASE: D:/jsp20
Using CATALINA_HOME: D:/jsp20
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: D:/jsp20/temp
Using JAVA_HOME: D:/jdk1.3
The tomcat window opens for a while and closes immediately. There is no error in dos prompt.

You have to modify these lines in 'catalina.bat'

Now the hole process will remain in the same window.

This topic really belongs in the Apache/Tomcat forum. I will move it there.
