Hi,
I'm interresting for a while in Ruby.
Where can I find comparaison in term of performance between a application written in Java vs the same in Ruby?
Thanks a lot.
Good continuation.

Here is a relatively recent comparison. I would, however, urge you take 5 minutes to read this as well.

Hi
i am completely new to Ruby. could anyone please let me know what exactly does ruby do and where does it stand in the current era technologies.
i am a java programmer and just heard about ruby. unfortunately never got a chance to look into what exactly it is.
i would be thankful if someone could provide a headsup for me so that i don't need to spend on searching/reading it via other means.
thanks-
Khaja

You should've asked your questions in a new thread rather than appending them on this thread about comparative performance.
With that said, the answer to your questions can be found on the Ruby website.

The relevant slide points to this location: http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/u32q/benchmark.php
As a groovyist, I feel obligated to point out where Ruby is relative to groovy. ;)
