Using onclick in input tag

I am trying to use the onclick event in an input tag. The response is not very consistant. Every click does not respond for some reason. Any ideas?

is there a pattern to it? This script worked for me ...

Pretty consistent out here.Any particular browser, name, version?

input tag means what type of element? textbox?
