Welcome to JavaRanch.

An application "to find any kind of errors in hardware drivers"... what exactly do you mean by that? A program that automatically finds bugs somehow in hardware device drivers? Can you explain in detail what such a program is supposed to do, maybe with an example?

To find updates for drivers: I suppose that in principle it's possible to write a Java program that downloads web pages from the websites of hardware manufacturers, parse the HTML and interpret it, to check if there are drivers available. But this is going to be difficult because it will be highly dependent on the structure of the website of the relevant hardware manufacturers.
