Was it a marketing plan? saying that they will ship Snow Leopard in september, but they are shipping in the 28th of this month? is it a marketing plan to ship before windows 7?

I DON'T KNOW, But shipping before an announced date is really nice, and I will be very glad to upgrade my MacBook

Still just a rumor as far as I know -- but one with lots of evidence.

We'll just have to wait and see until the official announcement.

Well, there's the official announcement! No more waiting.

Yeah, a Friday is an odd day for Apple to do this. I'm sure there was some good marketing reason behind it. Apple is nothing if not savvy at that.

I've already ordered it in the Dutch Apple store; I bought my MacBook Pro just a few weeks ago and got an offer to upgrade to Snow Leopard for just € 8,95 (about US$ 12,50 with the low US$ rate of today). So I guess it will be in the mail soon...!

Haha me too, today in the morning, I think I will get it during the next two days, but unfortunately I have some projects to deliver on my macbook and I prefer to wait until I deliver them next week, I don't want to risk

With Leopard available tomorrow, when do you think the new Macbook Pros will be with it?

I almost convinced myself that my next laptop is going to be one of them, but if the new OS is here I can certainly postpone for a week or two the actual buy.

I already have the answer in the Mac site:

With every new Mac.

Beginning August 28, every new Mac computer comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

Well if you are convinced about the Mac, Snow Leopard will not make you change your idea and vice versa, Snow Leopard is just a refinement of Leopard, for me the most important thing is the switch of many applications from 32bit to 64bit which will increase their speed something around 2x. for many others they care about the support of Microsoft exchange but I don't use it.

In addition to these two major things, they refined almost all the OS applications adding more helpful utilities, if you are interested about all the updates visit this link
