Hi all,
Yesterday I took this SCDJWS 5 (310-230) exam and I got around 70% (45 questions correct /65).Most of the questions are related to design architecture and theory part . Only few questions (may be 2 or 3) had code snippets, related to creation of SOAP and SAX processor. I didn’t find a single code snippet for JAX WS(thousands of annotations ),XSLT,JAXB,DOM,JAXP,JAXR,REST ..Check out interoperability issues when we integrating Java Web service with WCF.
I would like to thank this Forum for the precious information I got from it as well as to IVAN (who shared his reference material guide) , Sang Shin(Java Passion) and Mikalai Zaikin ..
How long did you prepare for this exam?
Almost 2-3 months. I have tried each and every topic with examples (from creation of xml schema... to final WSIT integration) .
Pass mark for 310 -230 exam?
42 %
Material which I have used?
I am newbie to this web service. So I have started from level zero.
I started from here http://www.javapassion.com/webservices/index.html , it’s a wonderful site which have PPT for all the materials as well as it has home work for each course. Once I completed the above stuffs, I gone through Ivans guide (An excellent reference material).
Thanks.
Please check this site http://in.sun.com/training/catalog/courses/CX-310-230.xml , they have mentioned 68% is the pass mark for 310 -230 exam. They didn't update the site and if you score more than 42 % then you have passed the 310 -230 exam. So passing mark is not 68 % ,its 42 % ..

Hi all,
Thanks for your wishes.
Now i am in dilemma ,should i need to take SCMAD or SCEA.
*For SCEA ,minimum it requires 4-5 years experience.I am having only 2 years experience in Java/J2EE domain. So am I eligible for this SCEA Certification.
.*SCMAD Version 1.0 ,its very old one .There is no update for last 5 years .
Please give your valuable suggestions,it would be very helpful for me. Thanks in advance.

If you could pass SCDJWS, I believe you'll not have any problem with SCEA.
For SCMAD, if you don't work with Java ME, I think it's not necessary.

what is next ???
Hi Meherdad ,
Its good to know about the difference between JAX-RPC and JAX-WS , rather I can say JAX-RPC next version is JAX-WS. Its better to know about JAX-RPC since JAX-WS has been derived from JAX-RPC.
