Hi All,
I have being given a task to develop a website in Java i.e using java server pages and Servlet. The problem is I dont know anything about HTML,JS,CSS. So its very difficult for me to design the pages. As far as java programming is concerned there wont be a problem for me.

Please tell how should i start. Is there any IDE available for developing Java Web Application which also helps me designing the web pages with no HTML,JS,CSS knowledge.

What is the difference between Java Web Application and Website developed in Java?

Any guidance is appreciable

Most IDEs like Eclipse,NetBeans etc.. provide the facility to create dynamic web projects (which involves Servlet,JSP), but you will learn the HTML,JS,CSS on your way easily.

"Website developed in Java" - "Website" is normally consists of set of HTML pages, images etc.. But we use Java to generate dynamic content using Servlet/JSP etc..

If you are willing to deal with its limitations and warts, you might be interested in GWT. With it, you write your app completely in Java, and it gets translated into HTML and JavaScript for you.

I personally detest it, but it's right for some people and organizations.
