Hi Ranchers,

The begining of an intersting story of SCDJWS comes to an end with its certification. Yes, yesterday i have cleared the SCDJWS 310-230 exam.

Actually i have no planned to give SCDJWS(this was like a horror movie for me :eek prior to SCWCD and SCBCD and was also preparing for SCWCD from K&B book. But during this course i got a new requirement change into my current working project from my client to change existing billing module into web services. And we are supposed to give them some WSDL url.

But at that time i have no idea about WSDL so i searched and then comes to know that its related to web services. Then i decided to study more about web services ( as there was no other option as got this requirement from client :shock. I was aware about SCDJWS forum on javaranch, so i go through this forum and read about the suggestions given by ranchers.

This forum is really wonderful because everyone here share their experience with others also ( i found Deepika Joshi's thread really wonderful as she has mentioned each topic and its related learning source, thanks a lot)

My result - I got only 46% but i was expecting much more than this, studied 2-3 months for this exam. I followed xyz.com for mocks (but those were for 310-220) , so please follow these mocks only if you are planning to go for 310-220.
But i am happy that i have cleared the exam and also learnt a lot about web service and its related technologies.

About exam- - The exam is really tough as almost 75%-80% are of mulitple choice, so please study each topic in detail . There are a few question on JAXP, JAXB, Namespace, Schema, Stax, JSON.
There are lot of question on WSIT, security, JAX-WS and endpoint design architectire and design patterns.

Las but not the least a special thanks to Ivan Krizsan and RMH for their wonder notes and books respectively. I would also like to say RMH that please think about to publish your book for JEE 5.0 web services.

Once agian thaks a lot to all ranchers and best wishes to the aspirants who are planning to attempt SCDJWS.

Congrats Buddy

it would be great if you could share links for SCDJWS mock tests with us..
I have gone through first four chapters from Ivan's guide. Its mostly theoretical ..Now I want to
check my self on these chapters whether i was able to grasp the points or not.
One Reason is that i am getting bored also as i am not able to make some small working examples to check it out.
please guide me...

Regards

Jolly

Take time to choose correct forum. This is Web Services Certification (SCDJWS) forum and there is another Sun Certification Results forum.

Please read this Carefully Choose One Forum

Hi All,
Thanks a lot for your wishes...

@Jolly-
Mock test link for - 310-220
1. http://java.sun.com/developer/Quizzes/misc/jwsa.html
2. https://suned.sun.com/secure/assessment/220.jsp
3. Wizlab trial mock - http://www.whizlabs.com/scdjws-certification/scdjws-certification-preparation.html

No mock link for 310-230 (I haven't found any mock link based on newly added topic JAX-WS)
My advice, please go through:-
i> javax.xml.ws API (2-3 question straight from this API)
ii> apt - tool
iii> Read about WSIT for Visual Studio

All the best...

Thanks.

J2EE Web Services - Richard Monson-Haefel (RMH)
But this book does not cover JAX-WS which is added in 310-230 in place of JAX-RPC(310-220).

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
