IE7 vs IE8 CSS behaviour

Hi,

I came across this today.

Run the below code in IE 7 and IE 8 to see the difference.

You will see the indentation vary totally. But IE8 behaviour is similar to that of Mozilla.
I also read that IE 8 is more compliant to the CSS standards.
I also observed on removal of the doctype IE7 = IE8 (both differ from Mozilla), guess the standards!

Now how can I match the behaviour of the css in IE 8 and IE 7

Hi guys,

anything on this yet?

I went through the css box model for both IE7 and IE 8 , but frankly couldn't get a lot on this.

I think it is impossible to match both IE7 and IE8 for this case.
Please consider the following modification (this will brings less difference):
1. the default margin of ul for IE7 and IE8 are different.
2. "Second list item #3" will shift to the left if there is no "float:left;" for div#content.

cheers

Hi Wong,

I think it is impossible to match both IE7 and IE8 for this case.

Thanks for your view on that... I will consider your suggestions.

meanwhile if any one can get anything else on this, will be helpful.

Thanks once again.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
