pop ups

I have one main jsp which calls two pop-ups

my requirement is - I want to close pop up xyz automatically when pop up abc is closed due to some user action.

Actually in my 'abc' jsp, I am calling a servlet which reads the xls, pdf, doc files from server. And as soon as the xls/doc file is open the 'abc.jsp' automatically gets closed which we want. Now the other pop-up(xyz.jsp) is responsible for showing the message " please wait while report is openeing..." and as soon as the report is open, abc.jsp (pop up 1) is cloased , so logically other pop up (xyz) should also get closed.

please help !!

This would most likely have to be done client side in JavaScript rather than in the JSP.

Also it might be worthwhile looking at other options as I don't think popups are the best way to go about this (of course that is just my opinion).
This really does sound like Ajax territory really.

I love this place!

Please take the time to choose the correct forum for your posts. This forum is for questions on JSP. For more information, please read this.

With modern day browsers you are not going to be able to pull this off because of pop up blockers.

I agree. Here's the link:
