Hello all,

Some of you may have heard of JavaBlackBelt (JBB). Well in brief it's a community where you can take exams to test your Java knowledge. Well I have done a few JBB exams too.

But how do JBB exams really reflect your Java knowledge in the work place? Does it mean the higher belt you get in JBB, the easier (or more qualified) you are in getting Java jobs? Comparing JBB and Sun Java certs, which one would employers most likely to acknowledge?

Your thoughts are highly appreciated.

Even Sun certifications may not be recognized all the time. Java black belt will probably have a lower value, since it is not as famous as sun certifications.

As far as how much a Sun certification or JBB helps, knowledge is always useful. I cannot count the number of times I learnt something that was not directly related to the job at that time, but turned out to be a real life saver somewhere down the line. Whatever be the certification / book / article you read, if it imparts knowledge then it is worth your while
