Downloading content using java

In case if we have to download content onto our system is it required the content can only downloaded from an FTP server. can we not download the content from a webserver. where do we place the data such as PDFs or Images or videos to be downloaded.

Can you please provide a simple code for downloading content specially images.

Ofcourse you can place files inside a web-application dir on server and download it using a java program. The java program will make a http request to download that particular resource i.e file.

You can look at Apache HTTP Client library, which is meant for making http requests.
