How to avoid chunking / chunked responses?

When my servlet output is > 8kB (approx.), "chunked" transfer-encoding seems to come into force.

The problem is it's causing havoc with my client code (applet and midlet) over certain ISP connections.

Does anyone know how I can overcome this chunking?

I have tried calling response.setBufferSize(returnBytes.length) to try and get the servlet response sent a single chunk, but it makes no difference.

Any help would be much appreciated!
