Hi, I am trying to build an editor like application with JavaFx.

I want to click on a Menu and pop up a dialog box or an internal frame which will contain all the ComboBox, TextFields etc., which the user sets and finally clicks on the "OK" button and all the information that the user entered in the dialog box will be stored in memory for use later.

The only way to do this is to wrap JDialog or JFrame as a SwingComponent.

Can somebody give me the best option for doing this.

If there are any online examples, could someone give me a link to it?

The number of JavaFx examples online is much less than Swing examples.

There was a time when the number of Swing examples were a rarity too, but there were lots on AWT. Ah, how times change!!!

I decided to build my application in a "RIA" way - without any menus or popup windows.

The key is to figure out what the user is thinking and then use transformation and animation to
show them what they want to see.

The normal thinking is "To open a file, first I need to move the mouse the top left hand corner of the application and
then click on the "File" menu . . . . " So the thing to do now is when the user moves the mouse to the top left hand corner,
we uncover part of the File menu, as the user moves closer to the left hand corner, more and more of the file menu is seen till all of it is seen.

Cool huh?
