request.getHeader("Referer") returning the url of the same page

I am using request.getHeader("Referer") for getting the url of previous page..
It worked fine in my first page.. but in my second page it is returning the url of the same page only..
In the latter case I had a confirm Box in Jsp............is this problem arising because of this confirm box.....
