Hi

I am facing problem with JBOSS-ORACLE 10G RAC connectivity.

Please find below trace of error received on container(JBOSS) startup

[org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool] Unable to fill pool
org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (java.sql.SQLException: Io except
ion: Connection refused(DESCRIPTION=(ERR=1153)(VSNNUM=169870336)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=1153)(EMFI=4)(ARGS='(ADDRESS=(PROTO
COL=TCP)(HOST=oraentdb01)(PORT=1521))'))(ERROR=(CODE=305)(EMFI=1)))))

Please find below configuration details in oracle-dx.xml

<connection-url>jdbcracle:thin:@(description=(address_list=(load_balance=on)(failover=on)
(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=ip1)(port=1521))
(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=ip2)(port=1521)))
(connect_data=(service_name=VNG)(failover_mode=(type=select)(method=basic))))</connection-url>

second thing in meta - data i am using oracle 9i in place of oracle 10 g as mentioned by jboss community for oracle rac connectivity

<metadata>
<type-mapping>Oracle9i</type-mapping>
</metadata>

First thing to check... are you sure you can login to the database server from the computer throwing the error using the same credentials? Connection refused usually implies a firewall/connection issue. Next check your JDBC driver is setup properly in the class path.

Yes we are able to login to the database server. The driver classpath is set as well but we are using classes12.zip, can that be a issue with Orace 10g ?? Do we need to use different database driver in case of Oracle RAC, if yes request you to kindly provide the driver details that needs to be used.

Thanks

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
