HTTP-POST redirection using ActionForward

I have two seperate web applications, with separated session management. I need to pass information from one application to the other. Currently, the information is passed via the URL (HTTP-GET method) but this is not ideal for security reasons. I would like to know if it is possible to use ActionForward in connection with HTTP-POST.
