4 weeks to the day after sitting essay exam, I have received the good news! About 3.5 years to the day after downloading the exam I might add. LOL
Here's the breakdown of my scores:
General Considerations: 90/100
Documentation: 70/70
OOD: 30/30
GUI: 25/40
Locking: 80/80
Data Store: 40/40
Network Server: 40/40

I suspect I lost points on the GUI due to using a null layout for my main window. I knew this might be an issue but that is how I was taught and I like the control it gives so I decided to play guinea pig on this idea. Well, got the answer! I was fairly certain I nailed locking because I used ideas and test classes from my good buddies Roberto and Roel (these are referenced in SCJD FAQs). I strongly suggest reading them and using the test classes. There are some other test classes and JUnit tests available on this site if you search. I have no experience with multi-threaded programming so I needed all the help I could get. I was sure I would lost points for my server because I completely forgot to provide validation for all or most of it. I was cautious to the T on all other parts of the application that had user input. Dumb luck, I guess...not complaining, that's for sure!

You're all invited! I will be drinking some celebratory non alcoholic beer! I just noticed something, they made a mistake in calculating my score. See if you catch it. It's not 385, but still a decent pass. Again, I'm not complaining!

The important thing is that there will be a party!
About your score... even if it was 320, the important thing is that the whole thing is over!

When and where do I have to be? For me no beer, but some non alcoholic drink (water, juice, soft drink) is ok

Hello Anne,

First of all, congratulations!

I have posted my submission some time ago and still waiting for results.
What is the place where the results appear? Is it a https://www.certmanager.net/sun or a https://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment a place to look at in order to get the results?
Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Jarek.

By the way, I was wondering....

The assignment text talks A LOT about the possibility of an "automatic failure" if some of the requirements are not met by the submission.
If such an "automatic failure" happens is it reported immediately by the accessor to the submitter (there's no need to look in it in depth since it failed automatically on some major requirements)? Or maybe it is beeing processed as usual, 4-6 weeks from essay exam.

I'm wondering, if someone's still waiting for submission results, let's say 4 weeks already, can we assume that this submission hasn't failed on "automatic failure" and the additional time is for accessor for grading only?

What do you think?

Jarek,
It makes sense what you've said.. I don't see any point to hold the result if the assignment has failed to keep up with instructions.. In my case, tomorrow i'm reaching the end of week 6 and still no results..To tell you the truth I'm a bit pissed off because I have contacted them one week ago to ask if everything is ok and still I haven't received an answer from Sun, but on the other hand when I contacted them in order to pay for a voucher I got a reply the same business day..

Regards,
Nicolas

Jarek - short answer: nope. Longer answer might appear if you open your own topic to discuss your question. In the meantime, this topic is meant for people to congratulate Anne on passing.

Speaking of which - Anne: Congratulations! Sorry I missed congratulating you when you first posted this.

I've moved this topic to the Sun Certification Results forum.
