It will actually be ironic if Rio wins. The five Olympic rings represents the five continents.
The two continents that did not get representation were Antarctica, and South America.

No, the five rings represent Africa, "Americas," Asia, Europe, and Oceania, in a six-continent view of the world. Antartica is the one excluded.

I believe that is the current meaning. In the past, I think it actually represented continents, and the first olympics didn't have any representatives from South America.
But of course, I could be completely wrong here...

Wikipedia wrote:Created by Pierre De Coubertin in 1914.
“ The Olympic flag [...] has a white background, with five interlaced rings in the centre: blue, yellow, black, green and red [...] This design is symbolic ; it represents the five inhabited continents of the world, united by Olympism, while the six colors are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time. ”
—Pierre De Coubertin (1931)[5]
Of course, the very notion of "continent" is inherently ambiguous and subject to different interpretations by different people. But it seems unlikely De Coubertin considered South America uninhabited; much more likely that North and South America were treated as one.

I vote for Rio, it will boost the infrastructure of a developing country like Brazil.
Spain is relatively rich country. It would have been more interesting if Brazil and Spain had to choose between Olympic and Football world cup. Cup of life vs event of huge private investment. Which one they would like to pick up?
If safety wasn't a big concern, i would stand for an African nation.
Anyway, my country will be organizing Commonwealth Games 2010 , let's keep fingers crossed for that too

So Rio's bid won for 2016. The opening ceremonies should be quite something...

You do realise, right, that in Rio, the male's focus is not on b**bies but a bit lower and on the other side.

I can't believe somebody removed my post. I thought this was a multi cultural forum guess I was wrong as its only bi-cultural. That said, I'm going to defy the powers that be here and post a pic of b**bies again anyway.
check out those feet, you ever seen anything like that?
@ Pat,I would like to one up you
If anyone has a problem with what I post speak now - or forever hold your cheeks. I am almost up to a thousand posts, and have built up a lot of goodwill at this site and feel like I am at the cusp of moderatordom so I don't want to hurt my prospects by posting something which might be constructed to be "vulgar".
