Hi,

I have learned JAX-WS. But I do not have good knowledge of SOAP.

1) How much important for me to have a good knowledge of SOAP to work on JAX-WS?
2) What tools I should get familiar with for testing / debugging JAX-WS web services?

Thank you,

Having a good knowledge of SOAP is quite useful for working with WS, but maybe not so much if you stick with JAX-WS (which abstracts away most of it). But you may still want to read through this introduction to SOAP and SAAJ just to know the basics.

The SOAPUI application is very useful for doing all kinds of things with web services, including testing and debugging.
