MDB acknowledgeMode = SESSION_TRANSACTED and CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE

Hello,

The EJB3IA book states that the MDB's Session acknowledgment mode SESSION_TRANSACTED and CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE are not supported in MDB. Only AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE and DUPS_OK_ACKNOWLEDGE are supported.

I have the following doubts.

This information seems to be missing in the EJB core specification and in javax.jms API docs.

If MDB does not support, then why do we have it in the API doc.

If MDB does not support, is there any other way the developer can benefit of those features.

Do we have to know about SESSION_TRANSACTED and CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE in the exam?

Even if this may not be useful for MDB, I face this question in interviews.

Your help will be useful.

Thanks in advance,
Rajesh
