How to represent Non-It experience in CV?

Hello ,
I had 3+ years of experience in Java,J2ee and Non IT Experience 1 year during recession period.I want to reback to Software field.How the objective should prepare( post any sample objectives).How Experience summary mention in CV.Do we need to mention in format month and year or any thing else? Could you please tell your valuable suggestions.

I don't put all the experiences in chronological order.
I write Relevant Experience somewhere in start of resume and Other Experience somewhere in the end(to justify the gap period).
