I have installed the apache-jakarta-tomcat-4.1.31 on Solaris system and whenever the out of memory error logs the server restarts.
While shutting dowm the server the following error logged in the Catalina.out.
We have sent the JVM memory to below parameter:
JAVA_OPTS="-Djava.awt.headless=true -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:SurvivorRatio=128 -XX:NewSize=300m -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=0 -XX:CMSInitiatingOccupancyFraction=60"
Please suggest,I have no luck in searching through the google.
Thanks in advance.
I know I am replying very late to this thread, but it may help others.
If you just get - "SEVERE: Caught exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) executing org.apache.jk.common.SocketConnection@9cfe1c, terminating thread" it means request is hitting your tomcat but you need to check your Connector settings in server.xml.
If we dont specify any connector than by default it uses Coyote HTTP/1.1, otherwise we can specify something like - protocol="AJP/1.3".
