Hi Breno,

The only 'JUG' there seems to be is the London Java Community (Disclaimer - I'm a co-coordinator for this), see Here for details.

I'd sign up with that group and chat to Barry the owner of the group about this topic (he's in recruitment and has a good idea of market conditions) .

Hope that helps!

Are you eligible to work in UK?

Hi Breno,

I am in the UK for almost the last 3 years. The market is not so great, but it's a lot better than last year at this time. Contracting market is getting better as I recently got a contract within just a few weeks.

But there is a new trend, a kind of protectionism among the employers, like they like to have on board who has got 4-5 years of UK experience or British citizens.

I guess I could be eligible if I got a job :P
any more details I'd like to know, fabio?

Martijin I joined the group, gonna ask around there, thanks!

I imagine there is a bit of protectionism as its almost a natural thing, but I hope its not so spread and explicit, at least

I'm not a expert on that, but i think you must satisfy one of these conditions:

1. Be a europen citizenship (like me! I have italian passport)

2. Apply to a 'Highly skilled workers' http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier1/general/

3. Get a work permit before your trip to UK http://www.workpermit.com/uk/uk.htm

But like I say, i'm not a expert on UK work stuffs...
