Congrats on passing part1. I doubt the JEE 6 exam will be out so soon. But by the time you done with part2+3, you may want to updated to 6 if the exam is out.

Sad, but sun seems to follow that 'microsoft way' when the make new platform every two or three years with bunch of new features (sometimes completely useless) and with great lack of quality.

At least the JSE and JEE platforms are backwards compatible, which is more than you can say about a lot of the MS stuff. And JEE 5 and JEE 6 are generally well-regarded, in particular due to the changes made to EJB and configuration (annotations and convention over config files). So I don't share the "lack of quality" sentiment.

As to a putative JEE 6 SCEA, I too doubt that one will come out any time soon. The step from JEE 5 to JEE 6 is not so big that it would drive many architectural decisions.

if I am not wrong that won't make any difference especially for SCEA (even if SCEA comes for JEE6) ... technologies used in SCEA won't be changed... features to those technoloies are added.... SCEA's objective is to learn big picture....

If Sun does rollout SCEA EE6, they should allow EE5 Part 1 holders to complete Part 2 and Part 3 in EE6.
After all, Part 2 and 3 are not tied to any specific EE version.

in 2008 i'd passed on scea J2EE part 1 and i had 2 vouchers of scea part 2 and 3 j2ee version , then Sun sent me a email warning me that i had to finish all 3 parts of the scea j2ee till 1/jan/2009 or i would have to make all 3 parts again on scea javaEE 5, but the vouchers were still valid after this date 1/jan/2009, so you have to pay attention and solve your doubts with Sun when you buy your voucher , sometimes the expiration date of the voucher can be shorter because of a newer version of the exam.

Under such circumstances, Sun should never had sold Part 1.
To be realistic, finishing Part 2 and Part 3 in a short span is not easy.

Java EE 6 will be officially released on December 10, 2009.

The only app server that will fully implement it on that date is Sun's Glassfish v3. Don't worry about not being certified for the latest version of Java EE; it will take a very long time (years) before Java EE 6 is fully implemented in the most common Java EE app servers, and it will take even longer before most companies are using Java EE 6. It's not as if the whole industry switches to Java EE 6 overnight.

I think the new certification program is ok if it it comes some day.

I discussed with one Oracle sales? manager last week and I asked him about the new Java certificates. He said that there is no sense to learn Java anymore. Okay maybe he wasn't so technical guy, but I really hope that the former SUN's certification program will continue with JEE6.

Does anyone have real information about the new Java EE 6 certification stack? (http://java.sun.com/javaee/support/training/)

What is the schedule? I've been studying to SCEA 5. SCJP/SCJD already in my pocket, architect is my way to go.

I asked the company who offers the certification services in Finland, but they didn't answerer anything.

I posted today the email for my Oracle contact about the new JEE 6 program. Let's see what he can do with his contacts in Oracle. I hope he forwards my email to someone who knows something..

I didn't get answer from the Oracle contact about the JEE6 certification.

I'm afraid that the SUN JEE6 certification never comes and if it it comes it contains also the Oracle WebCenter things in every area.

So I think the future is not so interesting in the JEE6 certification field.

Keep you update what is the latest release on java and j2ee etc. If I know all and able to work all and able to speak all not necessary for me to go for certification. This is the only problem with me so I never thinking for java certification but I am a good dava developer....
