EL param map clarification

When I use ${param["info"]} I get the first property of the info object; however, when I try ${param["info"].firstName} which is the 2nd property I get "javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException..." Is my EL syntax off?

Parameters are always strings, which cannot have a firstName property. What do you think that the EL expression is evaluating to?

And because info is a valid identifier, the expression can be simplified to param.info.
