do...while() statement question

        do [b]while(w < 1)[/b]
            System.out.print( "w is " + w );
        while ( w > 1 ) ;

why while(w < 1) can be put directly after do?
what else can be put there?

This is how the program actually works

int w = 1;
do {
     while(w < 1) {
            System.out.print( "w is " + w );
     }
} while ( w > 1 ) ;

Remember, that while in a do-while is followed by a semicolon...
