I have a project built by JSF. I want to use Seam framework to integrate into my project. So I read this article http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-seam1/index.html

I followed the instruction from there, add jar files for hibernate and seam, changed web.xml and face-config.xml, and add an empty seam.properties. After that, I created a war file and try to deploy it on tomcat 5. Then this war is even not be able to get running. Tomcat manager says: FAIL - Application at context path /tdct could not be started.

If I remove the change for trying to have Seam enabled, the war file perfectly running. This means tomcat itself has no problem. Did I miss something to have seam working, or what's the correct way to have seam framework enabled? Thanks

Firstly, check your XML in web.xml and faces-config.xml is well formed and validate it too against DTD or Scema.

If thats ok, is there a seam-config.xml TO COIN A PHRASE FOR IT, that requires configuration and adding and referencing in web.xml or faces-config.xml???
