plotting graphs in java

can anybody suggest me what is the best way to prepare graphs in java,

If by "graph" you mean a function plot (say, y=sin(x) ), then the CodeBarn here at the ranch has examples of how to do that.

You could also use a library like JFreeChart for creating chart images.

If neither of those fits what you intend to do, please be more specific.
