I am using RAD with websphare and I do get confused with the difference between deploy, build and publish. I think I get what they do, at least build (like compile), deploy (creates some files for EJB ?) but what do publish do and in what order and when do I need to do these? Can anyone describe these for me?

Linda,
"publish" takes your changes and puts them on the server. You have two environments in RAD - the IDE and the WebSphere server. Publishing tells the IDE to inform the server about those changes.

Thanks Jeanne for your explanation. So I need to publish every time I make a change in the code. I get it. Do you know how often I need to deploy?

When you change the signature of an EJB. This regenerates the deployed code.
