Hi,

I'm using JBoss 5.1 on Mac 10.5.6. I have this log4j.xml file within my WAR file's classes directory ...

And within some of my Java classes, I have stuff like

Does anyone know where the logs actually get written to? I have looked in my stdout file but there is no log4j output there. Thanks, - Dave

It doesn't get written to anywhere other than the console, as the appender you are using is ConsoleAppender.

Use RollingFile appender and mentioned a file name to append.

Unless you have configures JBoss AS to enable you to use your log4j.xml, your app's logs are governed by the settings in server/xxx/jboss-log4j.xml. If you have not changed jboss-log4j.xml, the logs for you app will appear in stdout and in server/xxx/log/server.log.

And one more thing, in AS 5.1.0, by default, only log entries of level INFO or higher are written to the log files. Your log entries are at the DEBUG level, so they are ignored.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
