How to bypass html tags in JSPs while using struts?

Look at the following piece of code:
<display:table name="vList">
<display:column property="sProperty" title="Data Types"
href="someURL" paramId="NodeKey" paramProperty="sValue">
</display:table>
This works extremely fine, but for the following input:
Say sValue is = <a href="http://www.javaranch.com">Java Ranch</a>
On click of the displayed value (sValue) - Java Ranch, it takes to the JavaRanch Url, rather than the href="someURL". The need here is to bypass '<' and '>' in anchor (<a> tag by replacing them with < and >. Is there a way to do this in display: table tag OR any other means so that href="someURL" is retained?
Thanks in Advance.
