Hey all,

Good to be back on Javaranch after a hiatus...

I am using HFSJ for preparation. I was on Page 109 and had a question with the example of HTTP OPTIONS request.

The list of HTTP methods to which the thing at requested URL can respond to is: OPTIONS, TRACE, GET, HEAD, POST

What made it leave out PUT, DELETE and CONNECT?

Thanks,
Suhas

This is not actually a question from HFSJ. It is an example that says,

Response from server when HTTP request type is OPTIONS returned the above HTTP methods. My question is why not all the possible HTTP methods were listed. What made it leave out PUT, DELETE and CONNECT?
