Required information on MySunID for SCJP

Hi All, I need to write the SCJP5 exam. I got the voucher, while trying to register from a Prometric center, the tool asks me for a MySUNID. Who will have this MySunId? and whom to contact for the same. Prometric center is saying Sun offical centres will only be able to give the MySunID, When I call Sun center they are saying prometric centers are the one can give that ID. Any who has an exact idea of who will be able to give the MySun ID/ should I generate my self?

I suppose this is your first sun certification exam. The Sun Id is generated when you give your first certification. Are you trying to register online or directly from a prometric center?? When I gave my SCJP, I didn't need any Sun ID...

I was never asked a my sun ID. Perhaps they are referring to the candidate ID. This ID is auto generated the first time you take the exam. Clarify with them, if this is what they meant

Yes, this is my First sun certification exam. I was trying to register from the prometric center. It was marked mandatory and is not allowing to proceed further.

What I can see that would be a possible solution is there was 4 options before the page where it asks for "MysunId" and the option lists to choose between options of Student/Sun partner/Associate. Option choosen might be the key I guess. Any idea which option need to be choosen so that it would not enforce to enter the MysunId?

I don't think choosing between Student/Sun partner/Associate would matter. Still choose Student in that. If you are registering from a prometric center, don't the people there are helping you. They must have idea of how it works. As Deepak said, nothing like sun ID is asked for your first certification. Are you choosing the right certification?? You will be asked for some sort of ID if you give a certification like SCWCD which requires a person to be SCJP as a prerequisite...

Here is the summary of how it goes for the problem of Mandatory MYSUNID at the first time of registration for SCJP exam.

Use NONE@NONE.com for your first sun certification exam, without a MySunId prometric tool will not allow to register. Once you have given the exam MySunId would be sent to you thru the email Id you have provided in the Email contact while registering. This is the SUN ID that you need to furnish for the other exams which requires a prerequisite exams. There would be a MySunId genereted for you with the mail from the Sun cert Manager along with the details of account verfication code. With the verification code when you log into the www.certmanager.net/sun/, you would be able to create a account which will have the histroy of all the exams you have taken.
